Year 57 – Blessed Beyond Measure
We begin another school year this month! The history of ML continues to grow year by year, and the opportunities to impact teens for a life of Christian service continue to grow. We are gearing up for our 57th year and look forward to sharing again with our alumni the great things happening at your Alma Mater. Our theme for the school year is Blessed Beyond Measure based on Ephesians 3:16-19. Take some time to watch this video to see why this theme was chosen and how it will be incorporated into every day at ML!
Finally, please keep your ML family in your prayers this year. Ask our God to bless the efforts of all the faculty and staff as they once again partner with parents to provide Christ-Centered Learning for Christ-Centered Living!
A Record Year!
One of the highlights of the summer is our annual golf outing. This year, we had a record turnout of golfers: 38 teams! So many alumni returned to enjoy a day on the course or volunteer to make this event special once again. In fact, 20 of the teams had one or more alumni of ML playing. We were also able to use this event to directly benefit the students of ML by raising over $21,000 for tuition assistance.
Alumni Association Meeting
Every quarter, the Association meets to discuss the plans for our group. All alumni are encouraged to attend if possible to see how they can plug into the important events sponsored by the Alumni Association. The first one of the year is this coming Sunday at 1:00 pm. Request a Zoom link if you can’t make it in person. Email – alumni@michiganlutheran.org to get the link.
Seeding the Future – Planting the Seed for a Generation of Harvests
Undoubtedly, you have now heard that our year-long fundraising campaign is to reduce the indebtedness of the high school. Over the years, generous supporters have loaned ML funds to complete projects and assisted in lean years. Over time, some notes have been called in and we have had to take out other member notes to replace them. Our debt has never truly been something that we have actively worked on reducing until now. And now is the time! ML is growing with students and opportunities. Yet, the funds to cover these notes are not in place should an individual ask for it to be paid back. Our only option would be to drain our endowment fund or take out more loans. We are asking our entire Titan Nation to consider a gift to our Seeding the Future debt reduction campaign to have funds available to get our debt to under $1,000,000 by May 2027. Please consider a one-time or recurring gift and help this ministry become even more financially stable into the future!

Quick Visit
ob and Carolyn Greutzmacher stopped by ML as they were visiting SW Michigan. Mr. Greutzmacher was one of our first teachers, coach, and AD in the early 70’s.
He’s pictured here with some of his former students, Ruth Hafer and Amy Brenner (Class of 1974), who spent the summer repainting the classrooms, hallways, and stage at ML.
Pursuit of a Dream
Evie Claire, Class of 2021, wrote an article about how her passion for horses is turning into a career and it was posted by America’s Best Racing, a national multimedia and marketing platform focused on Thoroughbred horse racing.
Alumni Trivia Contest!
We had the most guesses of all-time in our trivia contest, but according to the Timestamp, the first correct answer was from Samantha Berndt (2004), who correctly identified the picture as Ed and Cheryl Gallert. If you haven’t received your alumni t-shirt yet, contact Matt Herbst to get it!

Help your Alumni Association
The Alumni Association has an aggressive plan to positively impact MLHS again during the 2025-2026 school year. Their plans are dependent on others joining in to help carry these events out! See the timeline below. Each of the quarterly meetings will have a Zoom option available.
