Academic Challenge  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School academic challenge team is to encourage high academic excellence and to use intellectual gifts to glorify God by competing against other area high school teams. There are about 10 Thursday night competitions.

Air Rifle Club   This shooting program is focused primarily on teaching the proper positions and safety needed to shoot 3-position air rifle. The program meets every Monday @ 6pm at Grand Mere Rifle and Pistol Club. All necessary equipment is provided but if you have any personal equipment you would like to use you are more than welcome to bring it. Each week it will cost $3 per shooter to cover the targets and ammo.

Athletics  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School athletic program is to help students find their purpose in God’s Word that commands us to preserve our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit and to glorify God in all that we do. The program is an extension of the total educational curriculum with God’s Word as the foundation. The coaches that direct the teams, the student athletes that participate, and the parents of athletes will strive to be guided by this foundation. 

  • Fall sports:  football (co-op), boys soccer, girls volleyball, girls golf
  • Winter:  boys and girls basketball, cheer
  • Spring:  boys baseball, boys and girls track & field, girls softball, girls soccer.  
  • Year-Round: Boys and girls powerlifting training with competitions in January-February.

E-sports  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School esports team is to allow students an opportunity to build acquaintances and relationships.  The esports program can help students develop valuable skills such as strategic thinking, teamwork, collaboration, goal setting, preparation, managing success and failure, and even quick reflexes!

Fine Arts  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School fine arts program is to teach students to know more about music as it is written, sung, played and heard, so that they may be better equipped to work with the music which we have in our church.  The art courses are designed to help students learn how to plan, construct, and analyze artwork that allows them to think and communicate visually.

Global Club The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School Global club is to foster the assimilation of our international students, to develop appreciation for each others’ unique cultures and experiences, and to build deeper relationships with one another and ultimately with Christ.

National Honor Society  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School National Honor Society (NHS) is for the members to use their God-given talents to create enthusiasm for scholarships, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character.

Robotics  The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School robotics club is for students to learn how to code and write commands for robots through play. By programming and controlling robots, students can step into the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), acquiring knowledge and skills that can be useful to build a career in engineering and robotics. Students can engage in complex projects that build their critical thinking and prepare them for college life and/or a career path.

Speech & Debate  ​​The purpose of the Speech & Debate club is to provide Christian students with a platform to hone their public speaking, argumentation, and critical thinking skills in alignment with their faith. They normally meet on Wednesday mornings from 7:30-8:25AM.

Student Council  ​​The Student Council is the student government at Michigan Lutheran High School.  The Council has as its primary purpose the development of student responsibility and leadership from a Christian point of view.  Its objectives are to serve fellow students, to promote a good relationship between the student body and the faculty, and to promote the general welfare of the school.

Student Ambassadors The student ambassadors are a group of juniors and seniors who must apply and be accepted by the administration.  This group of individuals use their love for their school as a means to showcase to others the blessings of being an ML Titan.  They assist in the recruitment activities of the school such as Titan for a Day, Homecoming Carnival, and Open Houses.  They also go on the road to our Lutheran Schools and talk to students and families about the impact that MLHS has had on them.

Trap (Clay Target Shooting)   The purpose of the Michigan Lutheran High School trap team is to help participants learn gun safety, safe firearm handling, and become better shooters through hard work and practice.  The Michigan State High School Clay Target League provides student athletes with a supportive environment where shooting sports serve as a catalyst for teaching life lesson and skills that emphasize positive character traits and values.Trap faculty advisor:  Brian Gephart, ext. 207, bgephart@michiganlutheran.org
