Drive to $185
The MPR heater, which was installed when ML was built in 1972, finally went kaput! This past school year, we operated with space heaters until we could begin a campaign to raise funds to replace it. The cost of this is $75,000! We have already raised $56,000 of the total cost of this unit in just over a month! This is thanks to many alumni and friends and the work of the Lighthouse Attic. Donations can be made by sending a check to ML at 615 East Marquette Woods Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085, or donating online at this DIRECT LINK
Once we reach this first goal, we will continue this campaign drive to raise $185,000 so that when another one of these units decides it has lived a long enough life, we will be prepared to fix it in a more timely fashion!

The BEFORE Pictures – GALA Upgrade 2025
The 2025 Gala was “A Night for Stars” and our ML “Stars” will see an upgrade to their gymnasium/auditorium when they return to school this fall. Thanks to the generosity of so many, the space will receive upgraded electronic ADA bleachers, new speakers, a full and fresh paint job, a new curtain, and new banners. Next month, we will share the “AFTER” pictures of the paint job…the bleachers will be arriving in September.

Titan Friendships
Nick Mitchell (2019) was married in June and this picture was taken of all the Titan Alumni in attendance.
Congrats to Nick and his new bride, Meghan, on their marriage. Looks like you have a great support system in place!

Alumni Coaches
Paul (2014) and Sarah (2018) Jackemeyer coach our boys and girls soccer teams at ML. These siblings have given much back to ML and hosted a soccer camp this summer for our LUtheran grade school students.
Alumni Trivia Contest!
Congrats to Katrina (Kubath) Lake class of 1986 for correctly recognizing herself and her husband James (1986) in this month’s picture!! However, since that seems a little unfair to allow her to be the sole winner for recognizing herself, we are also going to award David Balza (1987) as this month’s co-winner, who also recognized the shard-dressed couple! If either of you hasn’t received your ML Alumni t-shirt, email bbriney@michiganlutheran.org, and she will be sure to get it to you!

Help your Alumni Association
The Alumni Association plans to meet quarterly to build on our network of nearly 1500 alumni and find ways to continue to impact the school we love! These meetings are open to ALL Alumni who would like to find out what is going on with the Association and find ways to plug into the events and opportunities at ML. Read the notes from the meeting and mark the dates on your calendar. We even have ZOOM options if you’d like to attend virtually and give feedback.
