Job Description: Middle School Athletic Director
General Description: To oversee the Middle School Sports Program
Qualifications:
The Middle School AD will:
- Have organizational and administration skills
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Be knowledgeable of MLHS and supportive of its ministry.
Duties:
The Middle School Athletic Director will be responsible for:
- Scheduling parent help for home games-gate, concessions, cleanup, and score tables
- Organize awards night at the conclusion of the seasons.
- Manage/supervise all home games
- Submit soccer teams for both girls and boys to head scheduler
- Organize and run parent meetings at the start of each season.
- Make sure the gym/fields are open for practice/make sure coaches know to lock up after practice
- Type rosters and email to other schools
- Manage signups starting in the spring
- Assist ML AD in hiring and overseeing coaching staff
- Handle parental concerns
- Handle concerns of co-op schools
- Gym and field setup and cleanup for games
- Coordinate purchasing of concession items for indoor games unless held at MLHS
- Confirm opponents and sites for all games
- Make snow day/weather related decisions regarding practices or games
- Use Schedulestar to create a schedule and make practice schedule for all sports
- Coordinate the budget with ML AD
- Invoice participating congregations and ensure collection by the end of the school year
- Register teams for tournaments
This is a part-time position; The Middle School AD will be under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director of MLHS.

Job Description: Elementary Band Instructor
General Description: Ensure that the Lutheran Elementary Schools in SW Michigan are afforded band lessons at their own grade schools and assist the Fine Arts Director at MLHS with the Cadet and Explorer Band programs in general.
Qualifications:
The Elementary Band Instructor will possess:
- Strong instrumental ability on at least one standard band instrument, with ability on several instruments ideal (and preferably on multiple families of instruments- i.e., woodwind, brass, and percussion)
- Keyboard experience (eg., piano) for occasional accompanying of solos ideal, but not mandatory.
- Teaching experience at grade level (grades 4-8) ideal, but not mandatory.
Duties:
The Athletic Department Secretary will be responsible to:
- Teach individual (and in some cases, group) band lessons in the elementary schools at which we offer our Cadet Band program.
- Assess student progress and needs in order to efficiently further their progress.
- Assist the MLHS Music Director with group band rehearsals if needed.
- Assist the MLHS Music Director with recruitment efforts for the LES Band Program and promoting MLHS and its programs in general.
- Fill in on instruments lacking in the high school band for concert performances as able.
Reports to: Fine Arts Director
Supervises: Grade School Students in the program
Key Relationships: Fine Arts Director, LES secretaries and teachers
Estimated Hours: 2-3 days per week. 3 hours per day
Term of Service: Reviewed each school year.
